Predictable payments play a big part in making budgeting easy. You can avoid weather-related fluctuations in your electric bill by signing up for Traverse Electric’s Budget Billing Program.
What is budget billing? It’s a payment plan where you pay a set amount each month that is based on your previous 12 months usage history. Our budget billing cycle starts in June and ends in May the following year. If the actual total of your electric bills for this period is more than the total of your budget payments, you will owe a balance at the end of the budget cycle. If the actual total of your electric bills is less than the total of your budget payments, you will have a credit. Each June, your budget amount is recalculated and the new budget amount starts with your June 30th billing statement. You will continue to receive your monthly statement in the mail and payment of your budgeted amount is still required by the due date each month to avoid penalties.
